Evaluating Effect Of Thin Coating Of Form Oil On Rebars

I inspected the rebars to look at whether the thin coating of Form Oil on the rebars had an adverse impact of bonding the rebars to concrete. Based on my field inspection, review of industry study on this, my engineering judgment, and my practical experience, I believe that the thin coating of Form Oil on some rebars will not have adverse impact on bonding of rebars to concrete

Readiness For Concrete Placement In ICF Basement Walls of House 

The walls have been formed, rebars have been installedand the walls have been braced and aligned. Attachments for TJI supports have been installed for embedding into concrete, beam pockets have been prepared. The walls are ready for concrete placement.

The four footings have been dug. The two footings nest to the house have dowels installed into the house footings. Each of the four footings is to receive (4) #4 vertical bars (1) at each corner to be installed at the time of concrete pour.

I was on the project site today to look at readiness for concrete placement and to witness concrete placement.

The weather was really nice -- clear sky, light wind, perfect weather for placing concrete.
