Placing Concrete In Beams -- Deepening The Basement -- ANAND Enterprises Project KouR1J1201

.

Since we are working in a very confined area in the basement, it took a good deal of planning and coordination between Miko and his crew and the ready-mix concrete supply driver to get the concrete from the alley to the beams in the basement. The concrete was place in the beams on the East side farthest away from the alley and then finishing the day with the beams on the West side. Miko is going to form the wall piers on Jan-31-2013 and the plans are to place concrete in the wall piers on Feb-01-2013.

Most of the work is manual labor because of the confined space in the basement of the building -- well let us have a look at the following pictures

Remembering Al Lopez

.

Alfred L. Lopez

I learnt from Michael Wise of Lopez Engineering that our great engineer Al Lopez passed away at his home the afternoon of Nov-25-2012. Al has had a prolonged fight with bone cancer.

Al left this world a better place. He was a great mentor and leader. He founded Lopez Engineering in 1971 with the idea of always trying to figure out how to make it work for everyone. He taught us many things, not just about engineering, but more importantly about life that we will always remember and cherish.

I have fond memories of working with Lopez Engineering on some projects.

I just returned  from the Memorial Service for Al
at
Dryer Funeral Home
Holly Michigan

Al left us for a better place!
