The TroyGeoHouse was originally designed to have poured concrete wall basement and steel columns and beams. To have an energy efficient house and to facilitate pretty much column free basement so there is flexibilty of creating recreational area, home theater, and such I  recommended to the owner/developer and the builder to consider ICF wall construction and eliminating  most of the columns in the basement with joist girders ... and here I present the use of the Open Web Steel Joist Girders in the basement supporting the First Floor structure ...
