Excavating Area Between The Beams -- Deepening Existing Basement -- ANAND Enterprises Project KouR1J1201

.

I stopped by at the job site along with my colleague Anna to see how the excavation work is progressing  ... it is slow but it is coming along ... at this pace it looks like it would be another week to ten days before we are ready to get it inspected for pouring the slab

Placing Concrete In Basement Walls For New ICF House In SouthEastern Michigan -- ANAND Enterprises Project EneE1TajS1

.

When I was at the project site this morning, I had to make sure that the vertical rebars in the walls had been placed as specified in my design drawing. Once that was done and the concrete placement began I wanted to take a few pictures to include in my report ... that is when I discovered that my Canon digital camera refused to cooperate and that is when I said OK I will take the pictures using my Samsung Galaxy Note. It started almost fine with first still picture which you will notice is slightly obliterated on the bottom left hand side. Following that what happened is purely amusing ... after the first picture, I must have accidentally switched from still mode to video mode ... so between the first frame of each video, I was inadvertently moving the camera up, down, and whichever way. So in the video, it is the first frame and the last frame that
count, everything in between is just gibberish.

Placing Concrete In Wall Piers -- Deepening Basement -- ANAND Enterprises Project KouR1J1201

.

Wall Piers are narrow elements that form the support system for existing wall footings as we deepen the basement ... as you can see in the pictures it is going to be tough placing concrete in the wall piers -- if you make the mix too stiff you can hardly pour it and if you make it too soupy you run the risk of blow outs . Anyway here are some pictures that I took .

next comes the laborious job of digging out the dirt from between the beams so that we can prepare the ares for pouring the slab.
