Remembering Al Lopez

Alfred L. Lopez

I learnt from Michael Wise of Lopez Engineering that our great engineer Al Lopez passed away at his home the afternoon of Nov-25-2012. Al has had a prolonged fight with bone cancer.

 Al left this world a better place. He was a great mentor and leader. He founded Lopez Engineering in 1971 with the idea of always trying to figure out how to make it work for everyone. He taught us many things, not just about engineering, but more importantly about life that we will always remember and cherish.

I have fond memories of working with Lopez Engineering on some projects.

The beams supporting the face brick near the top are corroding and need to be replaced ... at the same time the store facade is going to be spruced up by changing the brick to split face block. Following are some pictures that I took during my field visit to get information for procuring the building permit for contractor to do the work.
